Hi all,

and thanks for letting me join your forum.

I've had Xt500's on and off for 25 years or more. I have recently inherited a friends 1977 (I think) XT in very poor condition and once I have finished my Guzzi T3 I will be ripping the XT to bits and rebuilding it. It won't be a pristine show bike as I use all my bikes all year round and to be honest I really don't like XT500's in standard trim. Too heavy and too slow.

It will end up as a stripped down green laner and I will use it when My Enfield spits it's dummy out (which hasn't happened yet, but will I'm sure will).

I tried to post a picture o me and the beast (Enfield) in Derbyshire last winter, but couldn't work it out.

I’ve been riding continuously for the past 41 years. All makes, models sizes and types. Owned around 4 XT500′s and snapped a friends in half when I hit a VW golf when he turned in front of me.
I have now inherited another friends XT which needs a full resto. I also have a few Guzzi’s and like baking and making jams and marmalade.
