Hi everyone,

Just saying hello as a newly registered member. I am Andy Thornton from Grassington in North Yorkshire. Since moving back to my native Yorkshire back in 2005, I have parked up a 1982 XT-400 next to the back wall of my garage. Now retired (and locked down with CV-19), I have the time to begin work to bring it back to its former glory. So far, the engine is out with the bike being pretty much a parts bin now as I work through each item cleaning, lubricating and, if necessary, replacing parts as time allows. I have just about completed a respray of the frame, although it has to be said the general condition of the paintwork (and most of the parts) has to be a testament to the original build quality.

Anyway, that's me. I welcome any advice pushed in my direction other than "don't do it", or "I'll give you £50 for it"

Best regards,

Biketyke.
